Staying Connected

Building community isn’t just for election season. It’s about showing up and supporting the causes we believe in. For the past two years, I’ve committed to listening to our community and bringing solutions to the table.

From joining my friends for the first Shiloh Community Association Gala, breaking ground on the improved Enka Candler Sports Park, or the South Buncombe Ice Cream Gathering, I’m committed to connecting with every part of our community and focused on improving life for everyone in our community.

In just a year, we’ve accomplished so much by simply listening to the people. Here are just a few of the initiatives I’ve been proud to support:

  • Continued investment in Buncombe’s Affordable Parking Program for our neighbors working downtown

  • Supporting Buncombe County Sherriff’s Office’s initiative to patrol downtown Asheville

  • Improved access to healthcare services for our marginalized populations

  • Investing in early childhood education to give our kids the head start they deserve

  • Pushing forward on housing initiatives to support our workers and public servants with truly affordable housing

  • Life-saving responses to help our community fight back against substance use and addiction

We reached these goals because our community made their voices heard at the polls and supported leaders who were ready to put our community first. I’m honored to serve as your county commissioner and I’m more energized than ever to see our work reach the next level.

Our community made this happen by supporting Democrats up and down the ballot. As we creep toward another election year in 2024, it’s more important than ever that we keep up our momentum and support candidates that are committed to our values and goals. I’m all in for the people of Buncombe, are you with me?
